If you are a connoisseur of the Roulette wheel, you may have heard the term “snake bet” and knew exactly what it meant. If you are fairly new to the world of online (or even traditional) gambling, you might be at a bit of a loss. And no wonder. It sounds like something from a jungle film!
However, when playing online Roulette, the snake bet (more commonly known as the ‘Red Snake Bet’) is one of the most popular bets placed on the table – some players think it will increase their odds of winning and therefore their payouts. Try not to fall into this way of thinking – Roulette is a game of chance after all and even when placing this bet, you might still walk away with nothing.
But what exactly is a ‘Snake Bet’?
Basically, it’s a betting technique in which players will bet on numbers in red squares in a snake like pattern (hence the ‘Red Snake’). You lay your chips on the numbers 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 23, 27, 30, 32 and 34 (if you look at this on the table, it’s like a twisty snake) and hope that the ball will fall on one of these numbers. The odds are better than if you were to place a chip on a single number but the losses are also greater if you’re not lucky.
If this is your first time using this technique, why not try having a go for fun (no cash involved – all the fun without the risk) and see if you win more with this technique before giving it a go for money. Do bear in mind that even if you do win in the fun game, it’s no guarantee that you will be lucky for real. Good luck and have fun!
